FALB Social Media Strategy: Meeting Recap

The first of our extra monthly meetings was very informative!

We had a fantastic discussion at our last networking meeting about mastering social media without it taking over your life. Here are the key takeaways and actionable tips we discussed to help you grow your business online.

1. Better Facebook Group Onboarding

To turn new Facebook group members into genuine leads, we’re updating our entry questions. These questions help qualify potential clients and build your contact list immediately:

  • Opt-in: Ask a written answer question like, “Would you like to be contacted with more info about our services?”.

  • Data Collection: Request specific contact details (email or phone) to move the conversation off social media and into your sales funnel.

  • Rules: Require members to agree to group rules to ensure a high-quality, spam-free community.

2. Master Your Schedule (So You Can Reclaim Your Time)

Consistency is the most important factor in social media growth, but it shouldn’t be a daily chore.

  • Meta Business Suite: Use this free tool to simultaneously plan, draft, and schedule posts for both Facebook and Instagram.

  • Set Alarms: Treat social media like any other business appointment. Set a recurring “Consistent Alarm” on your phone to remind you to engage with comments or check your scheduled drafts.

  • Content Calendar: Use the built-in calendar view in Meta to ensure your posts align with your current promotions or local events.

3. The “Power of the Group” on WhatsApp

We want to support each other! Please add your business social media links to our FALB WhatsApp group.

  • Collaborate: By sharing your latest posts in the group, we can all jump in to like, comment, and share.

  • Engagement Boost: Early engagement tells the algorithm your post is valuable, helping it reach more people outside our network.

4. Clear Messaging: Attract the Best, Repel the Rest

Don’t try to be everything to everyone. Your social media is a filter for your business.

  • Niche Down: Advertise your specific expertise clearly. If you specialise in “Modern Chocolate Drip Cakes,” make that your headline.

  • Filter Clients: Use your messaging to “reduce undesirable clients” by being clear about your pricing, lead times, or service area.

  • Pick One Platform: You don’t need to be everywhere. Choose the one platform where your ideal Crawley customers hang out and focus your energy there.

5. Video & AI: Meet Your Audience

Videos allow people to meet the person behind the brand before they even book you.

  • Face-to-Face: Use short videos to introduce yourself and your workspace. It builds instant trust.

  • Opus Clip: If you have longer videos (like a 5-minute demo or an interview), tools like Opus Clip use AI to automatically find the “gold nuggets” and turn them into short, viral-ready clips for Reels or TikTok.

Our next meeting is on 13th February, 11am at MPCC in Maidenbower.

We hope to see you there!
